QULLIUQ PEBLEY WITH ARCTIC TRANSPORTATION AND LOGISTICS!

Who are you and where are you from?

“I’m Qulliuq Pebley from Utqiaġvik, Alaska.” (This is the northernmost city in the United States! How many of you can pronounce that? Us Texans aren’t sure it’s possible.)

What do you do for a living?

“I own and operate Arctic Transportation and Logistics, a seasonal freight hauling business that operates in the winter on snow trails. I employ three other blue collar haulers as well. But hauling is my main work.”

How did you get started?

“I moved vehicles for friends and family as a hobby and to save them some money on shipping for about 12 years, and in that time I made many friends at shops and parts stores in the places I drove to and from. One day a guy that I was working with on moving a car for his brother, who was fighting cancer, told me how much the business he worked for was paying to move a piece of equipment.”

“The amount lit me up and I got a business license the following week. I had just one truck then. Here I am seven years later with three trucks, four trailers, and two PistenBully Snowcats.”

“I’ve had some good help along the way, and my girlfriend and my grandmother are at the top of the list, a few nephews and cousins, some friends that help me to see opportunities for growth and expansion while being supportive where they can.”

What’s your favorite part of what you do?

“That’s a tough one! It’s hard to decide what my absolute favorite is, but it’s between seeing the smiles on customer’s faces at delivery, going on paid adventures with my friends and family, showing others that hard work and perseverance really do pay off, and knowing that my small team can successfully compete with very large freight companies.”

“Those are some of the things I like the most about what I do.”

How does your trailer help you get work done?

“My MAXX-D LHX 40k Heavy Duty Flatbed Gooseneck Trailer helps me get work done with it’s huge capacity! I can haul more in less trips and I can haul larger items and equipment, which was the main reason I got it. Last year I had to say “no I can’t move that for you” too many times. The quality of the trailer is is great and I hope to get another like it soon.”
