BLUE COLLAR HAULER DAVID JAYROE II WITH JAYROE’S STUMP GRINDING!
Hey Blue Collar Haulers! Down South in Louisiana, there are lots of trees and lots of storms that damage those trees. That means that somebody’s got to clean up what’s left of the trees when a hurricane comes through.
David Jayroe II and his father, David Jayroe Sr have stepped up to the plate to fill this need. Together, they own and operate Jayroe’s Stump Grinding and aren’t afraid to weather storms and get their hands dirty to get it done with their gooseneck equipment trailer.
Let’s check out their story!
WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
My name is David Jayroe II and I am from Slidell, LA.
Since Katrina, in 2005, Louisiana has had at least five other deadly hurricanes hit her shores.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
My father and I own and operate a small stump grinding operation together in Slidell, LA.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
We got started a little over three years ago when a friend of mine asked me to come work for him after leaving the US Army after eleven years active duty. He was cutting trees and had a small stump grinder. My dad and I decided we would start our own company grinding stumps so we got started by just grinding my friend’s stumps.
Since then we have worked in multiple states across the Gulf Coast and had many contracts under FEMA for disaster relief. Whenever disaster strikes we head right into it. Being from Southeast Louisiana, we know what it takes to accommodate our customers and make them feel comfortable in the greatest time of need. This need continues to grow to this day.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WHAT YOU DO?
My favorite part of what we do is that every stump is different, and every situation calls for a different approach. You’ve got to get creative. I get asked a lot if it’s boring doing the same thing everyday. My answer is NO, it’s not the same everyday. I love interacting with our customers and getting to meet new people all the time.
HOW DOES YOUR MAXX-D GOOSENECK EQUIPMENT TRAILER HELP YOU GET WORK DONE?
MAXX-D Trailers was our #1 option when deciding to custom order and build a trailer. We had a 2018 MAXX-D 20′ X 83″ C6X Equipment Trailer that was bumper pull, and we loved the trailer but wanted a Gooseneck equipment trailer instead. MAXX-D had an answer for exactly what we needed.
We purchased both of our MAXX-D Trailers from Anfield Trailers in Pearl River, LA. Mike and his crew have been amazing and very accommodating. When we were in the market for a bigger trailer and Mike said to come in and see him first.
He made us a custom order for shackle placement, color, ramps, and the gooseneck option. It was everything we wanted. We’re very happy with our purchases and will only recommend buying MAXX-D trailers. The quality is second to none.
