BLUE COLLAR HAULER WILLIAM PETERS OF TRASH-AWAY DUMPSTER RENTALS
Today's story is extra special to us because William is local and some of his grown children actually work here at the company. We also love that the idea for this business came from seeing other MAXX-D customers succeeding in the dumpster rental business. Use-case stories are powerful, and William's is no exception. WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
"My name is William Peters. I was born and raised in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua. After moving around for several years, I moved with my wife and children to NE Texas in 1997 and that’s where we stayed."
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
"I own and operate Trash-Away Dumpster Rentals, do some trash removal jobs, and sell scrap metal."
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
"I first heard about the roll-off dumpster rental industry through MAXX-D’s YouTube video and saw that it was a busy and profitable business opportunity. The guy interviewed in the video seemed to really enjoy it and loved his trailer setup. I was immediately interested and started watching more videos of guys that started similar businesses and explained how to start something like that, which was very helpful. Finally, I made the decision to start, applied for a business loan, and bought my first ROX trailer and 3 dumpsters. I already had a truck that I could use to haul, though I traded it for a better rig shortly after I started."
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
"What I enjoy most in my work is when customers are completely satisfied with my service and then call me again the next time they need a dumpster. Knowing that they were well taken care of and had a stress-free experience. My least favorite part is when the ground is soft at a job site and the dumpster leaves ruts in the customer’s yard. And it can rain a lot in NE Texas! Even though I do my best to fix the ruts, there is always the fear that it will be a deal-breaker for the customer. "
HOW DOES YOUR ROLL-OFF DUMP TRAILER HELP YOU GET WORK DONE?
"I’ve worked my ROX trailer and dumpsters for over a year now and haven’t had a single issue. The fact that I haven’t had to repair or replace anything (yet) saves me time and money. I read so many comments on FB about issues like pump failure or dead batteries but so far I’m blessed to have had no issues with pumps, batteries, or anything, really. The wireless remote has been a little spotty every now and then, but I think that’s pretty normal."
