In talking to Blue Collar Haulers we find many of them got started because they weren't happy with their previous situation. Most wanted something more flexible, giving them more control of their time and the ability to be with their families more. Enabling men to provide for their families with dignity and honor is one of our core values here at MAXX-D and when we see someone like Josh stepping out with courage and determination to provide for his family and spend more time with them, we get excited to share that story with you.
WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
My name is Josh Reck, I’m with Reck’s Hauling and I’m based out of O’Fallon, MO.
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?
I do junk removal, dumpster rentals, and material delivery - stuff like that. Basically, I drop trailers off, people fill them up like regular dumpsters, and we pick them back up when they're done and get them emptied. We also do the junk removal aspect like cleaning out houses and picking up stuff people have in their garages. We also deliver rock, dirt, mulch, and stuff like that to clients or contractors.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I got the idea from talking to a couple of buddies. I didn’t like the current position I was in so I wanted to work for myself and make my own schedule. That way if I want to spend time with my family, go to the lake or if I have doctor's appointments I can do it. I spoke to a lot of buddies that have their own businesses and they led me to who I needed to talk to. I did the research on the trailers myself, that’s why I went with MAXX-D originally. In the business aspect I’ve had a lot of help from friends and family, my dad's been there with me since day one.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WHAT YOU DO?
I enjoy helping people out, it’s satisfying. When dropping off a trailer people are happy to see you. I had to rent a couple of dumpsters when I moved, the customer service and communication weren’t that great and the price was higher. I was able to come in at a little lower price without ruining the market. It’s nice to go to a job where people are happy to see you.
HOW DOES YOUR MAXX-D TRAILER HELP YOU GET WORK DONE?
The trailers have been great, I haven’t had any issues with them since the beginning. It really made me money since the day I picked it up, when I was coming back with it I was able to drop it off and put it to work. If I didn’t have the trailer everything would need to go in the bed of the truck or I would need to rent trailers all the time, so it’s been great.
WHAT MAXX-D DEALER DID YOU BUY FROM?
Two of the trailers I bought from Truck Country in Versailles, MO. The last one was the roll-off system I purchased from Sancrest in Rogersville, MO. They were great. When I bought the first one from Truck Country they stayed late and helped me to get everything taken care of. They did the financing and went over the trailer with me. When I ordered the roll-off system, the communication was great, we scheduled a day to come down and look over the trailer. The experience from both has been great.
MAKING MONEY FROM DAY ONE
How awesome is it that Josh was able to pick his trailer up from the dealership and drop it off to a customer the same day? That's what we call hitting the ground running! Josh, we're proud to be a part of your story and we look forward to seeing you expand your business and your fleet of MAXX-D dump trailers as you work to provide for your family with dignity and honor!
