Kellen and his wife wanted to have more time to spend with their daughter, so they took a leap of faith and started their own lawn service company, learning as they went. They give back to their community and serve people with excellence.

WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE ARE YOU FROM?

My name is Kellen Richard and I live in Bellevue, Idaho located within the beautiful Wood River Valley.

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?

My wife Tori and I own Platinum Lawn Services, a full-service lawn care company. We offer spring/fall cleanups, aeration, dethatching, irrigation repair, and snow removal. We basically make properties look like a million bucks.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?

We started our business in 2018 after having our daughter with the idea we would have more time to spend raising our family. We started on our own with just a few pieces of equipment and a dream. Since then we have replaced almost everything with top-of-the-line equipment including our MAXX-D utility trailer. We picked up a lot of ideas from YouTube University but we largely figured out what to do by trial and error. The school of hard knocks has a steep learning curve!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF WHAT YOU DO?

Our favorite part of doing lawn care is working in nature and seeing the smiles on our customers' faces. It means a lot to be able to give them more time with their families. We also have some elderly customers' yards that we service and will often stop and help someone in need free of charge. It feels good to give back when we can. Everyone needs a little help from time to time.

HOW DOES YOUR MAXX-D TRAILER HELP YOU GET WORK DONE?

Our MAXX-D utility trailer is awesome! It’s very well made and has a lot of features we like a lot. From the standard LED lighting, EZ hitch coupler, removable/swing away trailer jack, integrated tie-down locations, and adjustable hitch height to the dexter EZ lube axles and square tubing construction it checks all of the boxes for us. We are able to safely haul our mowing equipment and get it done in style. We’ve had this trailer for 4 or 5 years now and haven't had a single issue. In fact, we are just getting ready to replace our first set of tires this year!

WHICH MAXX-D DEALER DID YOU BUY FROM?

We picked up this trailer from Farm Country Sales in Hazleton, Idaho. It was a great experience. There is somewhat of a funny story about our purchase. We had a problem with our banking system being down that day and our transaction wouldn't go through. We really needed it that day and drove a couple of hours to pick it up. The owner was very understanding and let us take the trailer home so we could get back to work and charged our card the next day when everything came back online. That's some great customer service!
